About

General: For media or other inquiries regarding the origin, history, content of the site please contact info@bitterwaitress.com.

Mission:  bitterwaitress.com went live in April of 1999 with the intention of providing a showcase for the talents and non-hospitality related activities of servers all over the world. Originally intended as a newsletter, the ease and low cost of the World Wide Web proved a superior means to this end. Over time, the site evolved into a generalized forum for individuals in the hospitality industry, including celebrity gossip, stories “from the trenches” and a lively message board. This is the fourth and most robust design iteration of the site. With it’s launch, bitterwaitress.com expands beyond its original scope. We have added a variety of content from news, reviews and opinions to educational tutorials, all from the server’s point-of-view.

Copyright Information:  All content on this site, including but not limited to the message boards, is copyright bitterwaitress.com, 1999 to the present. Media members may cite small portions of the stories on the site in reviews or discussions of its content and mission. For the use of extended citations please contact info@bitterwaitress.com

Citations:  bitterwaitress.com requests that all media outlets refer to the site in one of two ways:   bitterwaitress.combitterwaitress.  The site’s name is intended to be all lower case, i.e. “bitterwaitress” or “bitterwaitress.com”.”Bitter Waitress” is not the preferred appearance of the site’s name. The choice to use the feminine term “waitress” stems from a tongue-in-cheek reaction to the nascent and prevailing use of the term “actor” for people in the theatre irrespective of gender.

I’m having a new logo designed and should get it back up in a few weeks. The holiday would have been ideal, but alas, it was not to be.
